Screening at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival Never Look Away is an engaging documentary about photojournalist Margaret Mott, delivered with insightful discussions, good acting and a strong sense of direction and tone. Documentaries about photography and war are not new, as the structure of the documentary is nothing spectacular or surprising, but the core of its emotional message, the direction and style of the documentary still retain a strong investment, and many conversations and concepts are well studied. Mott is an interesting person and the documentary does a good job of explaining who she is, her influence on her work and what makes her special. Although there is some tasteless use of music and some editing options are a little confusing, overall I enjoyed it.
