Brian Gleeson (Thomas) is the son of actor Brendan Gleeson and brother of actor Domhnall Gleeson. Bad Sisters is brilliantly made in every detail, starting with the great script. But it’s also technically brilliant, with a great soundtrack and cinematography, combined with great locations.
So we all end up in conflict – brilliant!
The band is incredible, clearly having fun with their material and providing plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, but they manage to muster the necessary pathos that is essential in this type of show. Bad Sisters is a true black comedy in every sense of the word – but enjoyable – with a rich vein of Irish humour that comes through and keeps us invested in the Sisters’ fate. So even though the girls are up to no good, the question always arises – “are they real?” – because we identify with their plight and the judgements they form.
I’m rooting for the Sisters!
If you are a hypersensitive man, i.e. you don’t like it when the worst aspects of male behaviour are exposed and punished accordingly, … then you really need to watch this show and desensitise yourself, it will do you good and give you some perspective on how everyone else gets left behind by selfish male rudeness.
